Product Description
The Rogue SX100B 4-string electric bass guitar is a great-playing little axe featuring a smaller, lighter body that shoulders everywhere will appreciate. It has a bolt-on, 34"-scale maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and dot inlays. Thick, durable, high-gloss finish on body, neck, and headstock. Chrome hardware. With split-coil pickup and tone and volume controls. A fine beginner instrument with less heft and great playability!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Beginner bass/project   August 12, 2010

I purchased an SX100B used at guitar center for 25 dollars! I never would have bought one, but for the price I could not resist.

I brought the bass home and ended up tuning it to B standard and make a few adjustments and it played great. I have since replaced the bridge with a BADASS II bass bridge, a lighter set of strings, and tuned it back up to E. I plan to replace the pickup with something cheap like an EMG select and just have some fun with it.

I have owned many basses and still own a 78 Kramer 450B fretless and a modded MTD Kingston Fretless 6 string and I have to say 100 dollars for this bass is a great value. Does it play as well as my high-end basses? Absolutely not, but it's provided plenty of entertainment and given me something fretted to play when the mood strikes.

I'd recommend this bass to any beginner, or someone like me who likes to hot-rod cheapos. The only thing I am not too hot on is the neck profile, as it's very C shaped and I prefer something flatter.

This Bass works great. A nice light weight body and it came with good quality strings. It sounds great and is worth it at this price.
